Meet the New Chair of the Government Accounting and Auditing Committee

The Government Accounting and Auditing Committee meets monthly to discuss hot topics and provide updates on developments in governmental accounting and auditing to assist the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) with the issuance of improved generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS).

What interested you in the Government Accounting and Auditing Committee?


I wanted to learn more about current and ongoing issues impacting our communities and audit services. Staying on top of the latest trends in the industry is essential to remaining successful! 


What are your goals for the committee? 


To continue bringing relevant and interesting topics to our monthly meetings. Being involved with this committee gives me the opportunity to openly share ideas and hear from other members who share new strategies to implement at my firm. It’s always eye-opening to hear from others who are experiencing similar situations as we can lean on each other for guidance. 


What are you most excited about in joining this committee? 


Networking with and learning from industry experts.  I am always eager to make new connections who can help me learn more about the profession and how I can improve in my role.
