Small Business Relief and Assistance
March 27, 2020
Some municipalities may be providing other relief, if not for small business, for residents having issues paying their rent or mortgage. Call your city/town hall and ask if any programs exist.
Some cities that have existing programs include:
- Boston is offering some relief, updates and guidance through the Mayor's Office of Economic Development; and
- Worcester developed a Small Business Resiliency Program to assist those impacted by the coronavirus.
A few banks are also providing relief for small business owners/customers:
- Eastern Bank's Small Business Loan Impact Fund provides up to $5 million in lending to existing customers for help with funding their operations and can receive the money in days;
- Webster Bank is offering an expedited SBA application process for qualified businesses impacted directly or indirectly by the pandemic, including vendors or other external business partners;
- Citizens Bank is offering a Small Business Relief and Recovery program that will provide charitable contributions and other assistance aimed at helping small businesses restore full operations, rehire and recover in the months to come; and
- Bristol County Savings Bank is offering special programming for individual and business customers financially impacted by the virus.
Call your local bank to see if they have small business relief programs for any assistance.
