- The best advice you ever got: My Mom instilled a strong work ethic into myself and my brothers. She told us to take nothing for granted. Work at it. Also to be humble.
- Your goals for the year: 1. Survive tax season 2. Think about where to retire to in a few years
- If you weren’t doing this… Good question – Would be involved in accounting somehow
- Your favorite blogs/social media accounts you follow: I am old school – no social media presence
- What you do when you’re not at work: At home watching sports events
- Hometown? Reading MA – lived there my whole life
- Where did you go to college? Bentley College – when it was a College – Not the University it is today – It was a small school when I when there when I started at Bentley we had four buildings on the hill and the one dorm
- Who would you want to play you in a movie some day? My cousin – Al Pacino – he claims he is not related to us – I claim him anyway
- What’s your favorite color? Green
- What was the last song you listened to? Or what’s your favorite artist? Old school – Fleetwood Mac
- What was the last book you read? Or favorite book? Have not read a book in a long time – I read the Boston Globe every day
- What was the last TV show you watched? Or favorite TV show? Any live sporting event – Pats, Bruins, Red Sox, BC football, College football
- What was the last movie you saw? Or favorite movie? Favorite movies – The Strawberry Statement from my youth (I think that was the name of it) and A Walk to Remember
- Where is your favorite place to vacation? Hyannis area on the Cape
- What’s your favorite quote? Two of them – 1. It is a bad mistake if you do not learn from it - 2. Hell is the truth seen too late.
- Who would you most like to have dinner with someday? Al Pacino – who else?
- What was your first job? My first accounting job out of Bentley was working for a small CPA in Woburn MA – it was me, him and a secretary – He did very little work and spent a lot of time in the coffee shop down the street getting business. Before that I worked in a warehouse and the accounting department of a hospital part time.
- What’s your go-to joke? You know what Doris would say, “Que sera sera”
- What’s your favorite food? Spaghetti
- What’s your favorite restaurant? Kitty’s in North Reading MA
- What is your favorite benefit the MSCPA offers? Being Chair of the A&A Committee has given me a great opportunity to work with many members and has given a great way to keep up with standards - Also being a member of the RAB – Going to seminars to learn and interact with speaker and others at those events
- What organizations do you like to give back to/volunteer for? I am an elected member of the Reading Municipal Light Department Board of Commissioners – Town Meeting member in Reading – I am also very active in my Church – Finally I am a Trustee of the Condo Association where I live.
- What about accounting excites you the most? Working with clients – knowing that when I complete a financial statement or a tax return I have done a good job.
