CEO Corner

Dear INSERT_FIRST_NAME,
I’ve spent much of the last week talking with members about what’s going on with them and how MassCPAs can help. While all different, each conversation had a few common themes. I will share those in the space below, with the hope it will help other members:
- There’s been a surge in email phishing attempts, with some even appearing to come from me. While the email may look legitimate, it’s important to look at the sender’s email address – that’s where you will commonly find misspellings, typos and other signs that it’s not from the real sender. If you are unsure whether an email is legitimate, contact the sender through other means (i.e., verified email address or phone call) to verify the validity of the email. Never open attachments or click on links that seem suspicious and delete any phishing emails.
- Staffing continues to be a top concern among our members – and everywhere in the profession. Retaining staff is a challenge for many, but developing future leaders is key retaining them. For this reason, I encourage you to send staff to our Emerging Leaders Virtual Summit next week. They’ll learn critical skills needed to help your business grow, and by investing in their growth, it’s an incentive for them to stay. To view the agenda and register, click here.
- Our Small Firm Virtual Roundtables kick off next week, and between the upcoming tax season, staffing issues and emerging technologies, they couldn’t happen at a better time! This is a great opportunity for our members small firms to connect on hot topics and get advice from peers in their area. For more information and to register, click here or contact Jill Foley.
I look forward to continuing these important conversations with you for the remainder of the year and throughout 2022. Please don’t hesitate to reach out – my door is always open to you!
