CEO Corner

Dear Hannah,

Staffing continues to be the number one concern of almost everyone in the profession. At MassCPAs, we believe one solution to that is welcoming a more diverse workforce by creating inclusive and equitable work environments and supporting aspiring accounting students on their journey into the profession.

To accomplish this, we recently partnered with The Diversity Movement and DEI expert Jina Etienne to deliver personalized trainings to our firms, companies and their staff, so when these students enter the profession, they will feel included, valued – and they will grow their careers here. To learn more about this, please contact Julia Ekelund. I also encourage you to join us on November 2 at 3:30 p.m. for a virtual workshop on unconscious bias and inclusive language. We will explore the topic of privilege and hear a panel discussion on how it can be used for the greater good. This session is free for MassCPAs members and provides 1.5 CPE credits. To register, click here. You can also view all upcoming DEI programs on our website

Another way to support the next generation of CPAs is by donating to our scholarship program. Many students, especially those from underrepresented groups, rely on scholarship support. Every dollar counts and goes a long way in making a difference in the lives of these students, and in the future of our profession. Visit our website to make your donation and thank you in advance for your support!

Lastly, don’t forget to sign up for the MassCPAs' Regulated Investment Companies (RIC) Committee fall infoshare on Thursday, October 21 at 8:00 a.m. The committee developed a robust agenda that includes an SEC update, ICI brief and a discussion on Deloitte’s fair value pricing survey results. It’s free to MassCPAs members and provides 2 CPE credits. Click here to register. To learn more about the committee or to join, contact Jill Foley

Have a great weekend!
