has arrived!

CEO Corner

Dear Hannah,

It seems we are all facing one deadline after another, but please don’t forget that next Wednesday, September 30, is the deadline for even-year licensees to fulfill your CPE requirements and renew your license with the Board of Public Accountancy. You can access the online renewal portal here.

Thanks go to our government affairs team of Zach Donah and Larry Liuzzo, who successfully advocated on your behalf for this deadline extension because of COVID-19. Kudos to them!

Don’t forget that you can use the CPE Tracker — free for all members — on our website to check your CPE credits now and prepare to finalize your requirements. When ready, you can simply save your record as a PDF and upload it to the Board of Accountancy’s website. To visit your Tracker, click here.  If you have questions, there is a simple explainer here.

Another reminder this week: We’ve been gratified by the great response to our compensation and benefits survey for public accounting firms in the state. The survey closes this Monday, September 28, and we don’t want any firms to miss out. We know how beneficial the results will be to you, as we document current average pay levels and benefits offered in Massachusetts, so please take the time to complete the survey now. Firm leaders: If you misplaced your unique link, you can email Elizabeth Emanuelson and she will provide it to you, but please don’t wait!

Some of you have asked about confidentiality. I want to assure you that survey participation is completely confidential. In fact, we are working with an independent association researcher, Kevin Whorton, to develop the survey and analyze the results. Kevin has done many of these surveys for other organizations and understands the importance of protecting confidentiality in the report, including from our survey sponsor. Kevin will store and analyze the data, protecting the privacy of all participants.

I wish to send a huge thank you to our sponsor, Integrated Partners, for their support of this important project. And thanks to all of you and your firms for helping us gather this important information about pay and benefits.

Have a great weekend! For those of you who are observing Yom Kippur, I hope you have a meaningful fast and a very happy new year.
