Dear Hannah,
One of my favorite things to do in Friday@Five is to recognize when one of our members has done something special. Today, I have the pleasure of recognizing two of our members who have done something extraordinary. MSCPA Board officer
John Geraci, CPA, managing partner at LGA, LLP,
and MSCPA past Chair
Carla McCall, CPA, CGMA, managing partner at AAFCPAs,
have each been named to the coveted list of the 2020 Managing Partner Elite by
Accounting Today. The MP Elite are chosen for their efforts and success in achieving sustainable firm growth, strategic planning, diversity and inclusion, cultivating a strong culture and innovation in technology and processes. This year, selections were also based on leadership through the pandemic and helping the profession fight racism and promote diversity and inclusion.
I’m so proud that of 10 managing partners recognized nationwide for their excellence, two are right here in Massachusetts and both have been very active in the Society. I offer a hearty congratulations and thanks for their leadership to Carla and John!
Diversity and inclusion continue to be a crucial initiative in our profession even through these difficult times. The success gap between proactive and reactive firms and companies will grow in the next couple of years. Part of being proactive is about creating an innovative, diverse and open culture to attract the best and brightest talent. To help our members achieve that growth, the MSCPA partnered with the Institute of Management Accountants and other state CPA societies to launch a short survey
to better understand the role of diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I). The results will help us identify actions needed to improve DE&I in the profession across the U.S. and create effective strategies for firms and companies of all sizes.
Please take the survey by clicking here.
The survey should take approximately 12 minutes to complete and will close on Monday, August 24. Responses will remain strictly confidential and will be analyzed only after being combined with the responses of all other participants.
Have a great weekend!
