CEO Corner

Dear Hannah,

We have big news! If your firm takes CPE through the Society…it could be free. This is thanks to a recent change to the State Workforce Training and Express Fund. There is some lead time involved, so you must act soon to qualify for the courses and conferences you and your staff are planning to attend this fall and winter.

Here’s the scoop: On July 21, 2021, the State Workforce Training Express Fund, which provides resources to Massachusetts businesses to fund training for employees, announced an increase to the reimbursement from 50% to 100% for companies with fewer than 100 employees. Firms and companies with more than 100 employees will continue to qualify for a 50% reimbursement – half off! The best part? The MSCPA is a preferred provider, and ALL our seminars, conferences and customized in-house trainings, whether they are virtual or in-person, qualify for this program!

To get started, browse our extensive library of conferences and seminars, or reach out to us about our in-house trainings.

You must apply for reimbursement three weeks in advance of the course or program to qualify, so don’t delay! Visit mscpaonline.org/workforce or contact Julia Ekelund with questions or for more details. Of course, you can always feel free to reach out to me directly at 617.303.2401 or apitter@mscpaonline.org.

We are very proud of the high-quality training we provide and could not be more excited that we can now make it available for free to many of our members.

Lastly, and on a sad note, I want to extend my heartfelt condolences to the entire team at Meyers Brothers Kalicka, P.C. in Holyoke, on the passing of their managing partner, Jim Barrett. Jim was a great guy as well as a great leader and will be missed by all of us.
