has arrived!
CEO Corner

Dear Hannah,

Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) is a hot topic in the profession, but a lot of firms and companies are struggling to increase diversity in the workplace. Many employers are aware that D&I is essential in the workplace, but don't have the tools they need to effect real change. At the MSCPA, we are committed to helping our members enjoy the benefits of a diverse workforce – a richer talent pool, diversity of thought and greater creativity, a staff that matches the market and ultimately, better business results. I recommend that you read this article from the Globe and Mail because it lays out the basics of the business case and opens conversations about how to turn talk into action.

As many of you know, I recently signed the CEO Action Pledge, and I'm excited to share that we now have several of our local and regional firms now signed up and on board with this initiative: AAFCPAs, CLA, Edelstein & Company LLP, KPM, LGA, McLane Middleton, tonneson + co and Wolf & Company, P.C. Together, we will explore how we can leverage the power of CEO Action and some of our local leaders to confront controversial issues such as unconscious bias, learn how to have difficult conversations in the office and discuss what resonates and what does not. To learn more about our diversity initiatives, click here.

If you haven't taken the pledge and you are interested in doing so, please contact me at apitter@mscpaonline.org or Zach Donah at zdonah@mscpaonline.org. To help us understand the gap between our aspiration to a more diverse profession and our readiness to get there, please take this brief survey.

Have a great weekend!
