CEO Corner

Dear Hannah,

In seeing many of you at our recent events and conferences, I'm constantly reminded of how exceptional our members are, and the MSCPA wants to recognize your accomplishments. With that in mind, I'd like to remind you that nominations are open for the 11th Annual Women to Watch Awards! We're looking to celebrate women at all levels in their careers, for both public accounting and industry. The deadline to submit a nomination is Monday, July 1. We are looking for women who are:
  • Role models/mentors;
  • Distinguished or emerging leaders at her firm/company;
  • Committed to the accounting profession;
  • Active and making a difference in her community; and
  • Dedicated to being her best self – both in and out of the office.
To nominate an outstanding woman, click here. Please note that including a letter of recommendation is not required but recommended and will strengthen your submission. Winners will be selected by a judging panel and presented with their award at the MSCPA Women's Leadership Summit on October 24. To view last year's winners, click here.

Lastly, it is with great sadness that I share with you that MSCPA member Dave Clarkson has passed away. Dave spent most of his career at McGladrey (now RSM), and after retiring, he served as an adjunct faculty member at Bentley University. He was an active member of the MSCPA for 35 years and served on our Board of Directors, the Academic & Career Development Committee, scholarship selection committee and participated in many high school student conferences and college career workshops. Dave was a great friend of the MSCPA and he will be deeply missed.

Have a great weekend,

Amy Pitter
MSCPA President/CEO
