CEO Corner
|
|
Dear Hannah,
Helping you succeed is our top priority at the MSCPA. Our duty is to stay on top of change in the profession, so that we can implement programs to help members, and their firms and companies, adapt and grow. We've talked a lot about technology changes, but diversity and inclusion are another business reality that's shifting the accounting workforce. In fact, studies show that businesses with more diversity are 35% more likely to outperform those with less diversity, and minorities will be the majority of the U.S. population by 2044. This means the demographics of your clients, consumers and staff are changing, and for firms and organizations to remain competitive, we must attract and retain diverse talent, starting now.
At the MSCPA, we have scaled our advocacy efforts to build a diverse accounting pipeline, and I am thrilled to announce that we recently signed the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion Pledge to formally kick off our Year of Diversity & Inclusion! CEO Action is the largest CEO-driven business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace. We will serve as a conduit to make resources, programs and networks available to firms and companies of all sizes, so you can continue
to thrive in Massachusetts.
As we enter Memorial Day weekend, let's remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and recognize and thank those who actively protect our country. I hope you enjoy the holiday weekend with your families and friends.
Amy Pitter
MSCPA President/CEO
