CEO Corner

Dear Hannah,

Happy last Friday of extended tax season!

For our members in public accounting, I hope all of you will be getting some well-deserved rest and relaxation after three consecutive “worst tax seasons ever.” While you are recovering, there are a few things going on at the Society that I know you won’t want to miss!

First, it seems wild, but our annual Employee Benefit Plan Conference is next week (Tuesday and Wednesday). This virtual, two half-day conference will cover the CARES Act, the SECURE Act, accounting and auditing updates, legal and regulatory updates, remote auditing, employee benefit plan governance and much more! Top-level speakers will discuss latest developments that you need to know in the year ahead (plus, MSCPA members save $100 as a perk of your membership!). View the full agenda and register here

And with busy season ending, I hope you’ll also join us for a relaxing evening “at” the theater for our Broadway from Home event on Tuesday, May 25. Broadway’s stars from “Hamilton” and “Wicked” will perform some music for us, and John Perkins, a member of the MSCPA and the CFO of the Boch Center, will give a presentation on what Broadway in Boston has been like during the pandemic and what we can expect when it’s over. Register today

Finally, please don’t forget to cast your vote to ratify the amazing slate of new MSCPA board members and officers. The Society runs on help from our volunteers, and our volunteer leadership is truly extraordinary. Personally, I can’t wait to work this year with this amazing group of individuals!

Have a great weekend!
