CEO Corner

Dear Hannah,

Spring is a time of change and new beginnings, and that’s especially true at the Society. We’ve made a few changes in our Learning and Development department to improve your member experience, and I’m excited to share them with you today.

First things first – our 2021 seminars are now live on our website! Head on over to browse our full list and sign up for courses that will help you stay on top of your game. And, because you’re an MSCPA member, you get exclusive discounts on all our courses and conferences!

As in the past, we will continue to add programs on hot topics throughout the year, so feel free to share your feedback with us. You will notice that we added a couple series to address the business skill needs of our members. One is for professionals with 1-3 years of experience, and the other is a leadership series designed for the manager level. Stay tuned for more details!

In addition to courses, registration is also open for all our spring conferences. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we made the difficult decision to keep our learning opportunities virtual throughout the summer. This means the Employee Benefit Plan, Accounting and Auditing and Government Accounting and Auditing Conferences will all be held in a virtual format. That said, we have a new platform for conferences that will make interacting with attendees and sponsors easier, and we can’t wait to show it to you!

Lastly, and perhaps the most exciting, is that we welcomed our new Learning and Development Manager this week! Claire Hoey has spent 10 years in hospitality and is looking forward to planning our educational events. Many of our programs are developed based on member feedback, so please feel free to reach out to Claire with your suggestions for topics and speakers we should consider.

As we head into the weekend, I’d like to wish our members who observe a joyous Passover...Chag Pesach sameach!
