I hope all our members in public accounting are having a smooth busy season so far! New This Week: Race to the IRS!
We are excited to announce that this week we added a fun, new component to this year's challenge:
a challenge map.
Participants begin their journey from the MSCPA's office in Boston, making pit stops (waypoints) at the offices of the New York Society of CPAs, the New Jersey Society of CPAs, the Pennsylvania Society of CPAs, the Maryland Society of CPAs and finally ending at the IRS office in Washington D.C.! You can view your team's progress on the map on your web browser by selecting the three dots on the Leaderboard and selecting "Map," or in the app by clicking on the Leaderboard and selecting
"Map."

Legislative Update

Update Regarding Form 1099-G
A small percentage of taxpayers received an incorrect Form 1099-G or didn't receive one at all (if they elected to have all or part of their overpayment carried forward to the next tax year). Corrected Forms 1099-G will be issued shortly to those who carried forward part of their overpayment. New forms will be issued to those who carried forward their entire overpayment. This does not impact taxpayers who did not itemize deductions on their 2018 federal tax returns. LEARN MORE
