has arrived!
CEO Corner

Dear Hannah,

Happy New Year! I hope your 2020 is off to a wonderful start. For many members in public accounting, the beginning of a new year is a sign that busy season is just around the corner, and I want to remind you that we are here to help.

On January 16, we will host our State Tax Conference that will cover tax reform, tax policy changes, developments in the cannabis business, gifting tax and the qualified business income deduction, audit compliance and much more. You'll also hear from leaders at the Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR) on the latest administration initiatives, news from rulings and regulations and a briefing from the taxpayer advocate. This is a wonderful opportunity for members to prep for tax season with experts in the industry! Click here to register for the conference, which will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Westborough, or you can participate via webcast

Throughout tax season, we'll be offering webinars on various tax topics, so you can quickly access the information you need to serve clients. We also encourage you to post on the HUB to get advice from your peers. Please remember that you can also report problems with the DOR to MSCPA Senior Director of Advocacy, Zach Donah (zdonah@mscpaonline.org) and we will work directly with the DOR to resolve them on your behalf.

Lastly, we have added several webinars this month to keep you informed on the new Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement Act (SECURE Act). The Act was signed into law on December 20 and is intended to expand opportunities for individuals to increase their retirement savings and includes some other important tax changes. To stay informed on the SECURE Act, click here

As always, please reach out to me if there is anything we can do to help you in the months ahead. Have a great weekend!
