CEO Corner
|
Dear Hannah,
Like so many of you, giving back is at the core of our beliefs and values at the Society. We know there are a lot of demands on your generosity this time of year, but they say charity begins at home and there are loads of amazing young people who need your help in realizing their dreams of becoming a CPA (you can read some of their stories here). That's why I'm asking for you to consider giving back to your profession with a donation to the MSCPA's Educational Foundation Scholarship Program.
Thank you to everyone who donated on #GivingTuesday – it was our best year yet! Even though the day is over, you can still donate to the Scholarship Program through December 31. You can donate online, or you can contact Erica DeBiase at 617.303.2403 to make your contribution over the phone. You can also mail a check to the Society, made payable to the MSCPA Educational Foundation. Please note that 100% of your contribution goes to the Educational Foundation.
I hope you'll consider giving back to your profession and supporting the next generation of CPAs. Last year was a banner year for our Scholarship Program because of generous members, firms and companies, and our goal for this year is to award scholarships in higher amounts, so we can have a greater impact on the lives of these aspiring accountants. Your donation, in any amount, will make a difference in a student's life.
Have a great weekend!
Amy Pitter

Blockchain/Cryptocurrency Group: Your Input is Needed
If there is enough feedback from MSCPA members, the Society plans to create a group for members who work in the cryptocurrency and blockchain spaces. The format would depend on the interest level with possibilities including a virtual networking group and/or forming a new committee that would include an education/informative portion, advocacy component and professional networking. Please contact Jill Foley if you are interested.
