Friday@Five
has arrived!
CEO Corner

Dear Hannah,

The accounting profession is experiencing tremendous changes in technology, client expectations, staffing needs and in well, pretty much everything. We find that change is impacting our members in so many ways depending on firm or company size, strategy, services, etc. At the MSCPA, we want to make sure that we keep pace with these changes, so we can evolve with you and provide you with the tools and skills you need to successfully navigate this new landscape.

To achieve this, we seek guidance from our board. Earlier this week, we had a board retreat to talk about where we are and where we are going. Much of the discussion centered on how we can be more accessible to you. We talked about expanding our latest initiatives, like our successful regional roundtables and broadcast conferences, as well as experimenting with satellite locations, so remote attendees can still enjoy the networking aspect of our conferences (without having to travel long distances). We also discussed how we can better support your staffing needs by deepening our relationships with local colleges, building bridges for student members entering the profession and by continuing our efforts to support diversity and inclusion. Overall, it was an inspiring day with our board that left us with great ideas that we will start to implement in the year ahead. Stay tuned for updates!

We value your feedback on our programs and events, and we will continue listening to make sure we understand your changing needs, and how we can help you thrive long into the future. Please feel welcome to reach out to me at any time at apitter@mscpaonline.org to share your comments and ideas.

Lastly, the MSCPA office will be closed December 24 – January 1 for the holidays. The next issue of Friday@Five will be on January 3, 2020. I wish you and your families a joyous holiday season and look forward to working with you in the New Year!
