CEO Corner
|
Dear Hannah,
Well this has been an election day — an election week — that could only happen in 2020. Just one more thing for us all to get through. I want to remind you all, through everything we have endured this year, for the most part, we have endured. The profession is doing extraordinarily well, which is a testament to the hard work, adaptability and commitment of everyone reading this message. It is also a testament to your ability to listen to your clients and pivot to adapt to what they need — and what
they have needed in this wild year is solutions to new and unprecedented problems.
We have been trying to do the same at the Society! In addition to helping our members through advocating for the relief you have needed this year, we have also heard your needs for just-in-time training and information and your need for peer-to-peer learning and conversation, even if that learning and conversation has to be on Zoom. Our committee and roundtable participation has more than doubled. We’ve added new roundtables for caregivers, new seniors, members new to industry and others. I feel
proud that we're able to provide some much-needed connection during a difficult time.
We are still offering our fall conferences, and, although they will be virtual, they will still represent the same quality you have always expected from us. Please check out our Real Estate Virtual Conference, New England Practice Management (MAP) Virtual Conference, Virtual Federal Tax Camp, Nonprofit Virtual Conference and State Tax Virtual Conference. I think this year, in particular, I would not miss MAP. With everything going on, it is more important than ever to take that time to work on the business instead of in it.
To keep meeting your needs, we need to make sure we understand what they are. Last week you should have received an email with a link to the MSCPA 2020 Member Needs Assessment Study. It should only take about 10 minutes to complete. Your feedback is critical to helping us make sure the MSCPA’s resources and efforts are relevant and beneficial to you and to the profession. And, in appreciation of your participation, you will have an opportunity to enter a drawing for a chance to win one of 10 $50
Amazon gift cards. We have been thrilled to hear from so many of you already, but we'd love to hear from even more.
I hear the weekend is going to be beautiful! Hope you get a chance to enjoy it.
Amy Pitter
MSCPA President/CEO
