Dear Hannah,
Last week was one of my favorite MSCPA events – our Women's Leadership Summit – where over 200 attendees celebrated seven outstanding women in the profession. Congratulations to our 2019 Women to Watch Award winners
Rebecca Connolly, CPA, Danielle Donovan, CPA, MSA, Kristen Longobardi, CPA, Mon Chau, CPA, Laura McNeil, CPA, Laura O'Brien, CPA, MST
and
Amy Phelan, CPA.
You are extraordinary role models for other women in accounting and I look forward to witnessing first-hand as you continue to change both our profession and community for the better.
One highlight for me was the Women to Watch panel, which was expertly moderated by one of our keynote speakers
Terri Trespicio.
Each of the winners shared personal stories and how they define success and the obstacles they have overcome. It was an inspiring conversation that left me feeling motivated and confident about what lies ahead. Click here to read more about the winners.
Terri also gave an influential speech about finding your passion through your work and how helping others can help you grow personally and professionally. Our other keynote speaker,
Kim Drumgo
from the AICPA, gave a fascinating presentation about the pillars of making a difference in the diversity and inclusion (D&I) space, understanding your unconscious biases, learning how to have difficult conversations at work and understanding what it means to be an ally. One of my other favorite events is the New England Practice Management (MAP) Conference, which will be held November 20 – 22 at Foxwoods Casino. Current and rising firm leaders will gather for three days of networking and gaining valuable insight on firm trends that will help elevate their practices. Click here to see our attendee list, and you can view more details here. We also have our Federal Tax Camps in December; a conference so popular that we are now offering it in three locations and on broadcast! Tax guru Sue Smith, CPA will update us on the most important legislative and regulatory developments as well as major trends and changes in the case law. Make sure to reserve your spot today.
Have a great weekend!
