CEO Corner

Dear Hannah,
I’m sure many of you feel like you are constantly being asked for feedback from everything and everyone. If you answer one survey this year, please make it ours.
It’s been five years since we’ve done a comprehensive member needs assessment, so we are about to launch the MSCPA 2020 Member Needs Assessment Study. So much is changing — between emerging business lines and changing technologies and the impact of COVID-19 — that your feedback is more important to us than ever. And, it will help ensure MSCPA’s resources and efforts are relevant and beneficial to you and to the profession.
You’ll receive your survey sometime next week. It should take about 10 minutes to complete and, in appreciation of your participation, you will have an opportunity to enter a drawing for a chance to win one of 10 $50 Amazon gift cards.
We are all concerned about data privacy, so please rest assured that this survey is being conducted by Avenue M Group, an independent market research firm working with the MSCPA to produce this study. Your personal data will remain confidential and will not be transferred to other parties not associated with the production of this study.
Responses will be anonymous when shared with the Society, so we will not be able to personally identify you by the information you provide — unless you choose to include identifying information in the open-ended responses. The data from this survey will be used internally by the MSCPA for understanding the needs of those working in the accounting profession.
Also next week, we will continue our efforts to help firms increase diversity and inclusion in the workplace. In an October 27 roundtable, I will be joining
John Geraci, CPA, managing partner at LGA,
to facilitate a discussion of some surprising data about the pipeline and new ways to recruit for a more diverse and effective workforce. Join us from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. You can register here. If you are a fan of Pixar and want to see a fun eight-minute short on the power of inclusion, take a look at this.
And finally, please remember that the deadline for early registration for your .cpa domain is next Saturday, October 31. To apply for a domain, visit domains.cpa. This website also offers a wealth of resources about .cpa, including a white paper, FAQs and information for the new service.
Have a great weekend!
Amy Pitter
MSCPA President/CEO
