CEO Corner

Dear Hannah,
This summer, MSCPA staff attended the annual Interchange Conference, where state societies come together to learn, network, share ideas and discuss the latest trends we're hearing from members. One topic that was heavily discussed was the evolving cannabis industry and how our members can get involved, which led to a post on the HUB, where we presented the idea of creating a Cannabis Networking Group for interested members.
With that being said, after receiving interest from 30+ members, I am pleased to share that we will be kicking off our first meeting on Wednesday, October 30 at the MSCPA's Boston office from 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. If you are practicing in the cannabis industry or are interested in getting involved in the business, please contact Jill Foley or Larry Liuzzo to be added to the list of attendees. This group was established based on your feedback and we are excited to get the ball rolling!
I also mentioned last week that if we receive enough feedback from our members, we plan to form a group for those who work in the cryptocurrency and blockchain spaces. The format of the group would depend on the interest level with possibilities including a virtual networking group and/or forming a new committee that would include an informative portion, advocacy component and of course, professional networking. Please contact Jill Foley if you are interested.
Additionally, if there is a practice area you are interested in and want the MSCPA to look into creating a group focused on that industry, please contact Jill Foley and we'll begin exploring it. Utilizing the HUB is also a great way to keep us informed and to get the conversation started. As always, your feedback is appreciated, and we are here to support you!
Have a great weekend!
