Dear Hannah,
Over the last two weeks I’ve met with stakeholders about expanding the scope of our committees. These stakeholders represent a broad spectrum of our membership – small, medium and large firms; and public accounting, private industry and nonprofits. While these members hail from different backgrounds and work environments, they all expressed the same need: to network with their peers, hear from knowledgeable speakers, and to discuss best practices and approaches to legal, regulatory and technical changes.
Our next step is to find volunteers to bring these great ideas to life. We have volunteer opportunities for both short-term and long-term commitments – you can devote as much time as you are willing to give. Stay tuned for a call to action, and in the meantime feel free to contact me with your ideas.
I’d like to wish those of you who will be observing Yom Kippur tomorrow an easy fast, and a happy and healthy new year!
Have a great weekend!
Amy Pitter
