CEO CORNER
Dear
Hannah,
I’m writing to you from Key Biscayne, Florida where I’m
attending Interchange; a three-day conference where CPA Society staff from all over the country meet to talk to each other, and hear from speakers on
a variety of subjects. This year the theme is clear: technology and the pace of change are going to be the two biggest factors impacting the
profession in the foreseeable future. The most immediate impact is from robotics – the idea is that any rules-based process can be automated,
but processes that involve human judgment and critical thinking cannot. However, machines will eventually learn the logic to mimic human judgement.
You can find this terrifying, exhilarating or both, but one thing is clear – the future will belong to those of us who understand and embrace
these changes.
Do you believe that artificial intelligence will lead to accounting innovation? Let's spark a conversation - share your
thoughts on The
HUB!
Speaking of technology, I want to remind you that a phishing email was sent to MSCPA members earlier this week.
The subject line was “MSCPA has shared a new file with you.” It is spam. If you received the email, do not click on the link and delete it
right away. As these hacking attempts do happen, remember that you should never click on a link in an unverified email from anyone.
Have a great weekend!
