Dear Hannah,
On Wednesday, I had the pleasure of attending the 16th Annual Women’s Golf Outing & Clinic at
Juniper Hill Golf Course in Northboro. We lucked out with the weather, and I hope everyone had as much fun on the links as I did! Here are the pictures that were captured at the event. If you want to
download the photos, simply use the password MSCPA.
Proceeds from the golf outing support our Educational Foundation, which funds scholarships to students pursuing careers in
accounting. Because of the generosity of our members, the MSCPA provided a record $100,000 in scholarships in 2016! To learn more about the
Foundation, or to make a donation, click here. Please know that
your help is greatly appreciated and does not go unnoticed.
If you weren’t able to attend the golf outing – fear not! The Society has many networking events planned this month. View our event calendar to find programs that interest you, or
venture outside of your comfort zone and journey to a new path. Wherever your career takes you, the Society is committed to helping you succeed. I
hope you take advantage of our programs and use them to fuel your journey!
Have a great weekend!

MSCPA Submits Revenue Analysis to DOR
The MSCPA submitted the results of the member-wide taxpayer behavioral analysis to the Department of Revenue this week. Forty-seven members

estimated payments in 2015.

Leads Opposition to Tax Return Review Proposal The MSCPA was joined by the Greater Boston Chamber of
Commerce, the Massachusetts Business Roundtable, the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation and Associated Industries of Massachusetts in submitting a
letter to the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget Conference Committee in opposition to a provision that would expand access to tax return information. The
proposal would create a tax expenditure review unit within the Office of the Inspector General, granting the office access to returns, documents, and
other supporting information.
