Dear Hannah:
I want to tell you about a fabulous opportunity to give back to the community,
increase diversity in your workplace – and truthfully, to do something that just feels good. This week, I met with Dan Jones from BDO and Jay
McDonald, president of Cristo Rey High School in Boston. Cristo Rey is a private, Catholic high school that provides college prep to students
exclusively from low income homes. To pay private school tuition, the students work at emerging and established companies in Greater Boston and apply
their earnings to pay for their education, covering more than 60% of their tuition. These students work in professional settings with college educated
people who are building careers. In this way, Cristo Rey students see what is possible in their lives through education and commitment to work.
The results are remarkable: 100% of Cristo
Rey’s students are accepted into four-year colleges and universities. You can watch a short video that will tell you more.
Cristo Rey already works with some of the best organizations in
Boston, and would like to add a few more to the roster. This is a terrific opportunity for your company or firm to be part of an innovative program
that helps guide these students on their path to bright futures. The kids are willing, ready and able to assist you with clerical tasks in the short
term, and perhaps be one of your superstar employees of the future.
Please contact me for more information about Cristo Rey or if you’d like
to provide an internship to one of these promising students.
Sincerely,
Amy A. Pitter
