Dear Hannah,
I’m happy to share with you that we’ve partnered with NECN for 10 “Tax Tuesday” segments, running throughout busy season! Each segment features an MSCPA member who discusses a different tax topic or tax-related issue. The first interview is with our Chairman-Elect Mark Nichols, CPA, MBA, MST and covers how to get organized for the 2017 filing season. Mark’s appearance will be on Tuesday, February 13 at 9:45 a.m. If you can’t see it live, we will post a link to the interview on our social media and in next week’s Friday@Five.
In addition to Mark, NECN will also interview MSCPA members and Board members Kate Seekell, CPA, MST and John Geraci, CPA later this tax season. These appearances are a great way to promote the value and expertise CPAs deliver to their clients. Thank you Mark, Kate and John for your participation!
Also during tax season, the MSCPA will host #CPATaxTalk on Twitter. Members can submit their best tax season advice, and we will post it on our Twitter account, @MASocietyofCPAs and tag you/your firm. With over 6,000 followers, this is an opportunity to get in front of potential clients and gain recognition for your firm. Whether it’s advice on how to avoid an audit, tips for late filers or trends you’re noticing as tax season progresses, we want to share it! | Update on Pending Ballot Initiative |
|
| Earlier this week, oral arguments were delivered in the case challenging the pending ballot initiative to impose a 4% surtax on income over $1 million. An archived video of the arguments can be found here (see Anderson v. Healey). A decision is expected to come no later than June 2018. We will be sharing updates as they become available. |
