CEO MESSAGE
Dear Hannah, As you
know, fueling the CPA pipeline with a diverse candidate pool is a top priority at the MSCPA. Last year, we launched a new sponsorship program for
graduates of our CAMP program (Careers in Accounting and Management Professions). CAMP is a specialized program geared towards minority high school
students interested in accounting and business careers. About 425 students have participated in CAMP since its inception, with 28 participants in
2016. These students are incredible! Some come from difficult backgrounds, yet they have a drive to succeed and a passion for our profession. This
talented group of young people will make a difference in accounting – and I’m asking you to support them.
We are looking for sponsors to donate $500 each for a scholarship for one CAMP
student as they enter their freshman year of college. This new scholarship is a wonderful opportunity to support the profession’s most promising
candidates. It’s also your first step to creating meaningful, lasting relationships with these students, both as future mentees and interns (and
perhaps, employees!). To underscore the
importance of this scholarship, I will personally match the first three contributions. As a sponsor, you will also have an opportunity to meet these
students at our Awards Ceremony on May 17. To pledge your support or for more information, please contact me at apitter@mscpaonline.org.
Have a great weekend! Go Pats!

The Director of IT at a local firm expressed interest in networking and forming a committee with IT peers. The committee
would share best practices, discuss challenges (security, new software, changes migration to the cloud) and explore new technology. Please email
Kara Kieran if you’re
interested in learning more.
