CEO Corner
Dear INSERT_FIRST_NAME,

As we move into a weekend that will include Passover, Easter, the Marathon and the end of busy season, I wanted to share with you some uplifting news. This week concluded our selection of the 2022 MassCPAs scholarship recipients – an amazing group of aspiring CPAs who make us all feel great about the future of the profession.

Thanks to the generosity of our firms, organizations and individual members, we will award 45 scholarships and 17 Exam vouchers totaling $171,500 this year! Over 100 students applied for these awards, and with many deserving candidates, the selection process was challenging. The MassCPAs Educational Foundation created a selection committee of 10 members, and each candidate was scored by two judges on that committee who then met and discussed total scores as a group. The selection committee worked very well together, and despite the high volume of great candidates, they were able to seamlessly pick the winners!

One winner is already making a difference by volunteering to moderate a panel of members at Chicopee High School next month! I think one of our scholarship recipients summed up what it means in a thank you note she sent to us:

“This scholarship will help tremendously towards achieving my educational goals as I start my MSA this summer and work toward passing the CPA Exam. I am extremely thankful for the MassCPAs Educational Foundation’s generosity…I look forward to seeing everyone at Connect 2022.”

You can meet this wonderful group of students at our member-wide networking event on May 10 – RSVP today

The Society’s office will be closed on Monday, April 18. To our members who celebrate, I wish you a sweet Pesach, a joyous Easter, a Ramadan Mubarak and a smooth end to busy season.

Best of luck to all the Boston Marathon runners! Have a wonderful weekend!
