CEO Corner
|
Dear INSERT_FIRST_NAME,
Employees, managers and owners are frequently hearing, “Do we still need to wear masks?” or “When will they loosen the mask mandates?” For business leaders, you may want to take the following into account as you make these decisions:
- State and local guidance/restrictions
- Team make-up (vaccination rates, health conditions, etc.)
- A mask-flex policy rather than a no-mask policy
Planning will be critical and must be strategic. For every one person wanting to rip the mask off there is another unsure or opposed. Here are the components to a successful transition:
- Survey your group
- Communicate the plan so everyone knows what will be happening
- Consider this more like an “off-ramp” than a light switch
- Support team members who are cautious or opposed
These are complex decisions that can be difficult to navigate. If you have questions regarding policy changes, reach out to the MassCPAs HR Hotline. Members receive a free 30-minute consultation with a real HR expert. If your questions require more time, information is provided with guidance on next steps. For details and to get started, click here.
Finally, we communicate almost daily with the Department of Revenue (DOR) relaying various concerns and issues you are experiencing this tax season. Please continue to contact us with any questions or problems you have and we will work to resolve them as soon as possible. On the federal front, the IRS announced Wednesday relief for eligible pass-through entities (PTEs) filing Schedules K-2 and K-3 for tax year 2021 in addition to last week’s announcement that they suspended certain automated notices. We remain in contact with the AICPA and will keep you informed as further progress is made.
Have a great weekend!
