If your renewal was impacted, your license will be reissued in the coming weeks with the correct expiration date. If your renewal was impacted but you do not receive a new license by July 30, please email the Board for an update.
| Tax Relief Bill Stalled in Revenue Committee
|
Yesterday, the Joint Committee of Revenue extended its deadline to take up Governor Baker’s $700 million tax relief package to July 31. News of the deadline extension comes after House Speaker Ron Mariano stated on Monday that House members continue to deliberate on such relief but did not offer any specifics.
Following the announcement of the deadline extension yesterday, Senate President Karen Spilka released a statement in support of tax relief before formal legislative sessions end this July. “While the details remain to be worked out, I believe we can safely balance targeted spending investments to a number of crucial areas, such as housing, childcare and higher education, with tax relief for individuals and families who are feeling the effects of inflation and continued economic disruption,” the Senate President stated in part of her statement. Her comments indicate that the Senate will take up the tax relief package after they finish debate on its state budget proposal. Matt Stout at The Boston Globe has more information here.
We continue to engage legislators and their staff on the significance of the tax relief package and will keep you posted on any developments.
