This course is designed for firm partners and managers to explore ways to incorporate data analytics and related technologies in their audit practices. Participants explore how small and mid-size firms are using these tools to improve engagement efficiency and quality while providing opportunities for value-added services to clients. All of AHI's courses rely heavily on participant interaction and these virtual programs have co-opted many of Zoom's features to preserve the same strengths of the in-person training: visual interaction between the instructor and all participants (plan to be "on screen" throughout the program); breakout rooms to ensure small group engagement; and instructor interaction screen share for small group presentations easy delivery of video presentations fillable PDF for online note-taking in the course materials.

This course qualifies for reimbursement through the state’s Workforce Training Express Fund. Firms/companies with fewer than 50 staff can be reimbursed up to 100% of the cost of training and firms/companies with 50-100 employees can be reimbursed up to 50% of the cost of training. You must register for the course and apply for reimbursement through the Workforce Training Express Fund website a minimum of three weeks prior to the start of the course to be eligible. Leader Bios

Bonnie Kennedy, Salve Regina University

Bonnie Kennedy, licensed as a CPA in Rhode Island, is a Group Practice Leader for Kaplan Financial Education, powered by Loscalzo Institute, and has over 25 years of experience in the accounting profession. In her current role as a member of the faculty at Salve Regina University, Bonnie teaches a variety of accounting and financial management courses and has published articles in scholarly journals. Bonnie began her accounting career with a regional CPA firm. She was involved in recruiting and training new staff and developed continuing professional education programs for the firm. After initial exposure to both taxation and attestation work, Bonnie eventually specialized in audits of manufacturing companies and not-for-profit entities. As CFO and Controller of a closely-held manufacturing firm for over a decade, Bonnie was responsible for financial reporting, tax compliance, cost accounting, government contracting, budgeting, and cash flow management. Bonnie holds a BS degree in business administration and MS degree in accounting from the University of Rhode Island. She is a member of the Rhode Island Society of CPAs, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the AICPA
